Getting Started with the Button Remote for Apple TV Bluetooth Edition

The Button Remote for Apple TV Bluetooth Edition is a hybrid Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Infrared Remote.

The remote is designed to work out of the box via infrared and a direct line of sight and via Bluetooth when paired with your Apple TV.

Important: If it does not work out of the box with a direct line of sight there may be a conflict with a legacy Logitech Harmony Remote or a first generation Apple TV remote (non-Siri remote).

Bluetooth Troubleshooting Tips

The Bluetooth Edition keeps disconnecting.
One issue is there may be interference if you have a router directly next to the Apple TV. Try moving the router away from the Apple TV.

Try Unpairing the Bluetooth Remote completely and pair it again as a new device.
Go into Settings/Remotes and Devices/Bluetooth. Select FUNCTION101RC and choose”Forget this Device.”. Once the Button Remote has been removed, pair the Button Remote again.

Will not go into pairing mode when pressing OK + Mute and just goes to the page how to pair Game Controllers.
To put the Button Remote into Bluetooth pairing mode, press the OK + Mute buttons at the same time until the LED is solid red. Press and hold the mute button first and then press and hold the OK button until the LED is solid red. Then you know the Button Remote is now in Bluetooth pairing mode.
